Blend marine wildlife and dramatic coastal scenery on this shared full day tour to Seal Island and Cape Point. See Cape fur seals in their natural environment before travelling to the very tip of the Cape Peninsula.
From Cape Town, you follow the Atlantic coastline to the fishing harbour of Hout Bay, where a short cruise heads out to the offshore rocks of Seal Island. The sight and sound of hundreds of seals resting and playing in the water is a memorable highlight. Back on land, you continue along Chapman’s Peak Drive and into the Cape Point Nature Reserve for cliff top views and lighthouse walks.
The tour also includes a visit to the Cape of Good Hope and time with the African penguins at Boulders Beach, creating a well-balanced experience that showcases the best of the Cape Peninsula’s nature and wildlife.
A complete day of sea life, scenery and stories from the Cape.
After being collected from your accommodation, you travel along the Atlantic Seaboard through Sea Point, Camps Bay and Llandudno, with your guide pointing out key viewpoints along the way. Your first main stop is Hout Bay, a working harbour surrounded by mountains. Here you have the option to purchase a ticket for a shared boat cruise to Seal Island, where colonies of Cape fur seals bask on the rocks and play in the surf.
On returning to the harbour, the journey continues along Chapman’s Peak Drive, famous for its carved rock tunnels and sweeping views over the ocean. A stop is made at one of the viewpoints so that you can stretch your legs and take photos.
From here you enter the Cape Point Nature Reserve, a rugged area of cliffs, fynbos and hidden beaches at the southern end of the peninsula. Spend time exploring the reserve, walking to the lighthouse, and enjoying the views from lookout points. Your guide explains the maritime history of the area, including shipwrecks and the importance of this route to early sailors.
You then visit the Cape of Good Hope for photos at the iconic sign before travelling along the False Bay coast to Simon’s Town. The next stop is Boulders Beach, home to a protected African penguin colony. Raised walkways allow close yet respectful viewing of the birds as they rest on the sand or swim in the shallows.
Depending on timing and traffic, the return journey may pass Muizenberg, known for its colourful beach huts and surfing culture. The tour concludes with drop-off at your original pickup location in Cape Town.
Departures include pickup from central Cape Town hotels and selected surrounding areas. Return transfers bring you back to your original pickup point at the end of the day. Final times and pickup details will be confirmed on your voucher.
This tour offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations made later than this or failure to join the tour may incur full charges.
